Puleng Technologies offers comprehensive solutions within the discipline of Desktop and Server Management. Whether the platform is end-user based (Desktops, PC’s PDA’s) or large Server populations, Puleng can provide solutions that will manage, control and ultimately achieve compliance through automated Change and Configuration Management.
The ability to assess a proposed change, understand the target population, verify through policies, provide authorisation workflow, execute consistent implementation of change and record change provides the Audit trail that is required of any Enterprise.
Business environments change rapidly, making it more challenging than ever to know exactly which Desktop and Server components are deployed correctly across the enterprise. The deployment of a Software Distribution, Inventory Management, Licence Management and Remote Control Solution is a natural building block for furthering the Systems Management capability within an Organisation.
Licence Management will enable a business to know exactly what software licenses are deployed and used across the organisation, and provide a snap shot of current licencing utilisation. This maintains licence compliancy as well as providing a platform for establishing immediate and future licence requirements.
Configuration and Operations Management Solutions deliver reliable services to customer’s end users and makes them more productive through the standardisation of corporate assets. This application distributes software reliably and securely, manages the change and control of IT assets.
Configuration and Operations Management will provide comprehensive control over enterprise software and hardware. These solutions enable an organisation to rapidly and efficiently deploy applications and updates to multiple locations from a central point, as well as automatically scan for and collect hardware and software configuration information from diverse computer systems.
Patch Management will proactively manage patches and software updates by automating the collection, analysis, and delivery of patches across an enterprise. The solution should significantly decrease the costs involved in delivering patches throughout an enterprise. Many organisations do not want their computer users obtaining and installing critical or security updates from an Internet source without them being tested or approved by a Systems Administrator. After a patch is downloaded, its contents are tested and staged before deployment to production environments. The integration of the solution to leading vendor portals and the automatic pull of current patch levels into a testing infrastructure allows for an automated process, ensuring compliancy before final production deployment across the enterprise.
By implementing desktop standardisation policies and best practices, software distribution will standardise operating systems and applications, decreasing conflicts and minimising exposure to security and virus threats, which in turn reduces calls to an organisation’s Service Desk. The solution also builds on Unix, Linux and Windows Installer technology to provide a robust application rollback and self-healing capability. For example, if a conflict is discovered, such as a file change without proper registration with a Windows Installer (via a transform or upgrade), the file is rolled back or repaired, restoring the application to its original state. The ability to publish Public Software through a Software Portal allows users to download without involving the help desk and provides a secure method for handling “one off” software needs. The Software Portal is a component of Software Delivery Suite and enables users to select software that is required and then subsequently initiate an install of the software.
Remote Control solutions enable the tracking and management of remote access sessions throughout an Enterprise. All remote access activity is automatically logged to an agent and reported to a central server. Pre-defined Web Reports enables the viewing of remote access activity or information on agent security configurations. The goal is to set specific policies that automatically notify you when certain conditions exist (eg. such as deviations from defined security settings).
